Just wanted to clarify after trying to find answers to this question of data and whether or not a BIS plan is required for BB 10 devices and having no luck.

Seems providers like Telus, Rogers, Bell, etc here in Canada are still indicating that their prepaid data packages will not work with Blackberry devices. This is not the case.

Any normal prepaid data plan will work with Blackberry OS 10 devices and offer the full suite of Blackberry services. I don't know why these providers are claiming otherwise, but having purchased prepaid data addons for my blackberry Z10, I can confirm that it works just fine.

They may be still lumping all the legacy devices in, those do still require a BIS plan.

Except that in the prepaid data app (Telus confirmed anyway), you can specify BB10 devices as opposed to the older models... so they are not lumped together.

And it seems far fetched that ALL carriers in Canada would make the same oversight... ><
