Curve 9310 or BB10?
Hi,
I'm going to be upgrading my BB soon to a new one. I'm still very confused as what to do, and need some other opinions about what I should do. I'm going to be buying a BB for prepaid at full price. BB10 will probably be $600+, and right now the Curve 9310 on Amazon is only $59.99. The big problem with the Curve 9310 is it's on Boost, so no way I can just swap a SIM card and upgrade to a BB10 device. Also, the plan is $60 a month but does shirk $5 every 6 months down to a minimum of $45 unlimited everything. With BB10 I would use it with T-Mobile, and it would cost $40 a month, making it cheaper, but I would only get 100 minutes unlimited every thing else, and I seem to run over that by a little on my current plan. I suppose I could use Google Voice with that plan though if Google develops it for BB10. Now though, in the end the Curve 9310 would be cheaper by about $300 - $400 dollars. I think though that the Curve really would do everything I want it to, which is BBM, SMS, Facebook, Twitter, music streaming, minimal YouTube streaming, and moderate web browsing. Would the Curve do well at these tasks, or should I spend quite a bit extra and get the 10? Also, I do have a PB, which I could bring with me when I travel long distances and need the extra power in a device, which isn't very often.

Well, I could afford BB10 in Feb. but I'm not sure if I want to spend that much if a cheaper device can do that already. My only fear is if I get the Curve 9310, and BB10 comes out with many features that I would really like to have. But the $59.99 on the Curve 9310 appears to be a Cyber Monday sale on Amazon right now.

Or now that RIM seems to be working closely with the prepaid carriers, would BB10 come out end of 2013 - early 2014 on a carrier like Boost, like a Curve model?

If you can buy the BlackBerry Curve 9310 outright, off contract, for USD59.99, you have nothing to loose. Otherwise, my advice is wait until BlackBerry 10 smartphones are released and decide whether BlackBerry OS 7 or BlackBerry OS 10 better meets your needs. I doubt the first BlackBerry 10 smartphone, off contract, will be inexpensive.
