In my few months of BB ownership I have pointed about a dozen other "Newbies" to this site and we have all found it most helpful. Why doesn't RIM just preload Crackberry on the devices (or the carriers)? The 101 tutorial is a must read IMHO.

Easy. RIM doesn't own Crackberry and has no reason to promote it.

    Half right .

RIM doesn't own Crackberry. But RIM does have every reason to try to keep their customers happy with their devices and pointing them to Crackberry is certainly a very good way to do that.

RIM publishes an owners manual and has various help tools
available on it's site. That is information they can test and
more importantly control. Here they have no control.

Lets extend your suggestion: Why not preinstall CB, Pinstack,
Themes4bb, Eveek, Adlen's Toolbar, BBForums, Howards Forum,
Fantoms Forum, etc... you see how impractical that is?

Anyone doing a search engine query on a problem will have
no trouble at all finding this place. In fact I suspect that is
    how many got here.

300,000+ folks have made their way here unaided by RIM. People who really want to know their BlackBerry intimately will do the research.

I could say "half right" to your post also (since it's a fact that RIM does not own Crackberry) but I know I was 100% right.

    AG said what I meant.
