Since CrackBerry is always linking to leaked, unreleased app files and telling people that they might want to try them out, and since BlackBerry is saying the problem is with people using leaked, unreleased app files, does this mean CrackBerry is responsible for this fiasco.
They are encouraging people to use these files!!!

Thanks Kevin, Bla1ze and all, you helped drive the final nail into the coffin of BlackBerry.

    Little harsh shooting the messenger!

Cracker doesn't create or store the leaked apps, only share information that's posted in forums.

Did you install any leaks ever? Are you accepting any blame if so?

Responsible for it? I wouldn't go that far.

Contributed to? Yeah maybe. But that would apply to any site that allowed links to the leak to be posted, of which CB was only one of many.

I think BlackBerry is responsible completely. You can definitely blame play store for allowing all those fake apps. You can also blame crackberry and other such websites for providing easy means to the leak but BlackBerry should have been proactive with this. This is the most important launch for them this quarter!

    What BlackBerry could have done.

    1. Worked with Google before hand to get rid of the fake apps or not allow them in, in the first place!

    2. Kept an easy enough mechanism to block any pre release apk! Or a self destruct kind of switch when it's time for launch.

    3. Not promised an exact time before hand to allow a slightly more gradual build up. And most importantly, avoid disappointment in unforeseen cases.

BlackBerry themselves have stated numerous times that the excitement for Bbm is big. And if that 1.1 million leak downloads are true, it is easy to get a sense of this excitement. Instead if waking up on the 21st and realising the the damage by the fake apps and the leaked apk, they should have controlled things before hand!

Not responsible, but maybe contributed to it
And they were just a small part of the ones that shared the link. Twitter and Facebook were full of it and I have to confess to have installed it (not shared) on my brothers phone

Well, since CrackBerry claims to be the No.1 site for BlackBerry users, I think they should take the majority of the blame.

    This right here.

All i'm saying is that a leaked version seems like an easy escape goat while they deal with whatever is the actual problem. We may never know but the blame should never be pointed at this site for this.

And if I'm right and the leak isn't the problem, I have no problem being lied to.

Crackberry team, thanks for everything, the insight, the posts the follow up. Seriously.
