The CrackBerry Celebration Event in New York City
Blaze had lipstick on his cheek. Kevin was taking pictures with CrackBerry fans. Adam was drawing raffle tickets announcing winners while admitting he was bad at it and even Rene Ritchie was there supporting and dropping knowledge on the low with party attendees.
The music was pumping, food and drinks were being served and the place was packed and alive.
Let me Tarantino back in time before this.
It's 7:30pm and I find myself standing in a long line outside of 1 Oak that stretched down the block. At first, I wasn't even sure I had the right place. Apparently there was a line an hour before the event even started! Here I am trying to show up fashionably late and the joke's on me. It took me over a half hour just to get in.
A couple hours before all this, I'm contemplating if I should even go.
But I wisely decided to head down to Chelsea with my camera on a whim to experience this once in a lifetime CrackBerry event.
1 Oak is a great trendy space and the CrackBerry team are really a terrific bunch. Fun, knowledgeable and engaging. Having the Q10 available for everyone to play with throughout the night was an added bonus too. There was even a BlackBerry representative there to showcase all of it's glory. There were CB T-shirts, CB stickers and BlackBerry specialized drinks sported everywhere not to mention the free phone giveaways compliments of CB.
A memorable night indeed. I was glad that I came and was able to capture it all.
I didn't win anything unfortunately and although I was too caught up taking pictures to actually grab any swag or even eat, I did walk away with something...
There was an undeniable sense that BlackBerry, despite all their troubles and challenges were going to be alright.
The celebration tonight was that BlackBerry is finally back thanks to all you guys reading this.
For so long we all hoped that it would be someday and I left knowing that it is.
The CrackBerry team and it's members have always been the unfaltering light in the midst of it's darkness.
Well done guys... and thank you.

Definitely a blast! If the meetup was a sign of things to come, BlackBerry will be fine here in the U.S.

it was such a fantastic night the venue was beautiful the staff was excellent the CrackBerry team were fantastic hosts
Team BlackBerry all around
Saw a lot of people with Z10s in their hands and it was really cool to get a solid feel of the Q. I got to play with it a bit and I feel like I'd have to get use to typing on buttons again. It felt a little off after having my Z since Jan hahaha I even tried swiping left on the physical keyboard to delete forgetting myself for a minute that I actually have to press a button hahaha
