Not sure if this is common knowledge or not however i stumbled across it and figured id share the info since I've owned 4 different black berry's (and consider myself somewhat knowledgeable in regards to berry's ) and this is the first time I've come across these particular shortcuts...
while your in any messaging platform (texting, emailing, BBMing)

Type:

"LD" + "press space bar" & it will replace with the Local Date...

"LT" + "press space bar" & it will replace with Local Time...


FYI: I am aware that this is simply "auto text" doing its fine work however i've searched in my auto text entries and these commands aren't listed which is why i was quite surprised when i stumbled across them..

It works on a Pearl and Curve too. Sweet.

Nice thing about PDF documents, they are searchable. I have searched my 8120 Users Guide for:

LD, LT, Local date, Local Time, date stamp, time stamp.... zip

However, the global variables are being used by AutoText.

LD is converted to %D by AutoText. %D is one of the global variables that resolves to the date stamp.

Search AutoText for the other global short cuts.
