Be it from a malicious thing from the internet or an app, I'm curious about the idea of remote data access vs encryption. Does content protection apply only to local things (plugging in and accessing data via usb) or would encryption be a wise choice for online/external protection as well? I'm just pondering over the likelyhood or possibility of someone or something getting access to phone data or transmissions.

I (very obviously) don't know much about security related things. I'm just unsure if I should use encryption or not. I do banking and etc thru the web browser and/or my bank's app and I'm kind of curious if information like passwords I type in and send are stored somewhere on the device that I'm not aware of. Exactly how necessary or unnecessary is it to enable content protection?
