Is there a way to rake my facebook/twitter contacts out of my contacts list. It's too hard to find numbers.

Turn your phone contacts into a favorite list. Tis one way.

While in contacts, touch the thing on the far left that says all and you can chose from there which to display on contacts.

Since you have posted using CB10, I'm assuming you have a Z10.
Go to address book and swipe from the top. Go to settings. There you will find the options of which contacts you want to see in the address book.

When I do this, a day or so later they are all "On" again. I thought this happened to everybody with a Z10?!

Same with my notifications. Specifically the CB10 app. If I turn the notifications off for CB10, a day or two later and the are turned back on.

Am I alone with this problem?

Well, there's always the ubiquitous search thingy. Type the first couple letters and it gets you there from anywhere.

You can sort by letter too. That's over on the right side of the contact list. I find either way faster than the old "scroll through the contacts" paradigm.

What version Z10 do you have and who are you with?

I'm on Telus with STL100-3 on OS 10.0.10.85.

Can others chime in and say if they have problems with their contacts switching back on?

I have the STL 100-1 on OS 10.0.10.82.
Carrier is Airtel India temporarily on Vodafone India as Vodafone India gave me 2GB free for three months on Z10. The plan activated itself the minute I put the Vodafone Sim in my Z10.
I have a the Lumia 900 as well. The contacts are synced to the same Gmail account as Z10. The WP7 contacts is horrible. I have ten duplicates for each contact. And it has also managed to jumble up the numbers in the contacts. Thankfully that mess never made its way to Gmail otherwise my Z10 would be screwy as well. My Z10 contacts synced with Gmail is working like a charm.

Shut down your system. Remove battery for a min or so. Restart.. I've got it working for many people this way. Don't restart or shut down your phone often.
