Being a long time Palm Treo user, I was anxiously awaiting a Palm device with integrated Wi-Fi and touch screen. The 800w finally arrived, and I purchased one at a local Sprint store yesterday afternoon. After spending hours on end trying to configure my corporate and university email with no success, I returned the 800w just a few minutes ago.
1) The battery life on the Treo was not very good at all. I know all the tricks to conserve battery life on Palm devices- but is was not enough. Palm actually stuck the Centro battery on such a high end, high powered phone. What a terrible decision.
2) The Wi-Fi speed combined with Opera mobile 9.5 was pleasant. The form factor, keyboard and Palms special tweaks to the MW 6.1 OS is wonderful- but
3) No other company does email, personal or corporate, like RIM. Nobody. Instant, simple, fantastic. The Bold will be my next device. Bye bye Palm-
To sum this up- RIM has spoiled me.
My apologies to the BES and BIS gods for my short-lived betrayal.
I had a friend switch from Instinct to 800w to Curve. She said the 800w was worse than the Instinct.

I have had every single Treo since 2002: Treo 90, 180, 270, 300, 600, 650, 750 (my all time fav) and Centro (GSM) and yes even the 800w- but I realize now it all about the "Blackberry Solution". I can't wait for the BOLD!
my boss switched to sprint to get the highly anticipated 800w and came back to tmo when he realized he couldnt send mms
sometimes its one or two phones a week for that guy until he gets stuck on something
