Would you predict that the Verizon reps will be at least semi-knowledgeable in showing the new BBs by then, or would you predict that I'll get the standard eye roll and sigh over the fact that I'm carrying a Bold 9930 and want to look into buying the Z10?

depends on where you are....when I went in to my local store, I played dumb and just asked about all three. I'm paraphrasing here, but the guy essentially said, "If you want a phone that will never really 'belong' to you, but has great content and is easy to use get iOS. If you want a phone that also has great content, but you can tweak and customize pretty much anyway you want to the best of your tech know-how...get Android. And if you don't care about games and apps and want something that emails and messages very well....get BlackBerry."
He was actually pretty objective I thought

6-8 months+ ago, the iOS was shoved down your throat at my VZW.
Now, the Androids are.
