After preparing for two-long years, Research In Motion Ltd(NASDAQ:BBRY) has finally entered the smartphone market by launching Blackberry Z10. The masterpiece by Blackberry possesses some amazing features & functionalities but this latest invention of Blackberry is not in news only for good reasons. Users and tech analysts are highly disappointed by the serious shortcomings of Blackberry Z10.

Let’s shed some light on both good and bad features of Blackberry Z10.

The look and feel of Z10 is quite mature and suitable for both businesspersons and fun-lovers. The 4.2 display with a 1280 X 768 resolution makes the device better than other smartphones in the same range. Availability of 2 GB RAM makes Z10 fast and users can swiftly switch between applications.

Blackberry has designed its smartphone carefully and the efforts are highly commendable. Despite the prudence, Blackberry Z10 has two major shortcomings. One problem is one the software while the other is in the hardware part.

The battery life of Blackberry is bad. If you are not using any application on the smartphone then the battery will die out in less than 12 hours. However, if you are using the phone actively then batters needs to be charged frequently. The problem of bad battery life is common with almost all smartphones available in the market.

Another common problem with Blackberry Z10 is desktop management. Even after years, Apple has not got it right and it is impossible to predict how long Blackberry will take to fix the issue.

In Blackberry 10, all the messages will be stored in hub irrespective of the network from where it comes. Now, there is nothing bad about storing all the messages in one place. But, the problem is the hub is hidden and cannot be accessed directly. To read a message, the person has to logout from the app he is currently using. Another flaw is Z10 doesn’t show the source from where the message comes.

Another problem with Blackberry Z10 is you cannot create a list of favorite contacts. The browser is treated as a desktop browser and thus you get to see full-size webpages.
