Cleaning up the CrackBerry Forums by Taking out the Trolling Trash...
- I have no desire to complain about a moderator, rather a desire to question the policies governing free speech on what is in most aspects a wonderful forum.
I see no justifiable reason why this cannot be done in open discussion on the forum.
I have indeed been a member for a while but feel that I now have no choice but to withdraw as the forum is being run as a dictatorship that echoes US foreign policy.
Pm the mods or email ur grievance. Using other forums is your choice and right.03-04-12 12:13 AMLike 0 - 03-29-12 01:44 PMLike 0
- This was my reply to another thread on crackberry but since I was plqnning on giving my 2 cents in this thread as well I'm just going to copy and paste it here.
This is a truly honest question that I'm curious of the answer. Why come here then? Clearly ou you don't like your pb or the people here. Which is fine the pb isn't for everyone and I guess some might not find this site useful but myself and many others do. I'm up for calling rim out on their fumbles and device flaws even a good debate. The thing is this place has gotten worse with people who just show up and interject negative comments that add no thing to the conversation. I'm not saying that's you. Maybe this is your first post like this. However cb has gone down hill the past few months ago ith people who hope show up and take some kind of joy in the trouble rim is in or putting down users on their choice of smart phone.and many of them if you check their post history that's all they've done? They sought out a BB fan site and registered just to give people a hard time. I honestly don't get it. And honestly it sucks and it's made his site a lot less fun. I'm going to avoid the news and general forums from now on since that's basically all it is now.
And I'm not in denial and don't mind discussing rim's troubles. After the earnings call I have doubts they may be able to hold on. It's not that it's the negative thread derailing and poking fun at people because they choose rim, they like to root for them and they enjoy talking to like,. Minded people on crackberry.Last edited by SnoozerBold; 03-31-12 at 06:27 AM. Reason: I suck with touch screen keyboards

- You all should be ashamed. And us BB users want this platform to compete with the big boys, dedication of a thread to crying about criticism whether trolling or not is no way to be respected in any arena except maybe preschool. Get your "goods" together and you don't need to worry. But this is shameful.....good luck instituting this in life....this is obviously from a generation that believes being politically correct is more important than the truth...uh oh..off topic.....troll troll trolll!!!!04-18-12 01:43 PMLike 0

We have a wide range of generations participating here. I'm from the baby-boomers myself, and politically correct would be the last thing anyone could accuse me of.04-18-12 02:00 PMLike 3 - Kevin, I just want you to know, that I was deemed a "troll" earlier today in a post that was very pro blackberry communicating my experiences with an android handset and it was blown up into me being a troll...i hope this does not have any play into my place here. This is my favorite site and I have been written up at work many times for being here...thanks and long live the berry.04-18-12 02:27 PMLike 0
- Not trying to convince anyone. I just know it's sad and frustrating to see the Site that RIM probably looks at and sees no room for improvement just a whole bunch of attaboys and high fives on a product that we know should be world's better than any tablet out there. We need to tell RIM what is wrong so this tablet can reach its full potential.04-19-12 04:30 PMLike 0

The forum is fine. RIM is the one that has to change to remain relevant in the smartphone world. This is nothing new and is the one thing that all of us members can agree on. Something has to change. As far as CrackBerry is concerned, this happens when the worlds' most famous/largest BlackBerry Forum that has grown to over 3 million members from all over (continues to grow).....trolls speculating the end of RIM, the anti-trolls that feel the need to blast the trolls(you know, fighting fire with fire), and then, there are those that feel that this site should somehow do more to help RIM. The "attaboys and high fives" are merely members trying to enjoy their products inspite of "those" that feel the need to endlessly and tirelessly continue to "state the obvious" about all things BlackBerry,....blah, blah. Change for anyone doesn't happen overnight- especially when it's a company that has stockholders getting smaller checks now than 3 years ago. I believe RIM already knows what needs to be done and are taking the time to make sure the "next level" BlackBerries are finished products that all will enjoy- whether for business or pleasure.

- I began my obsession with BB almost 5 years ago, and it took me the better part of 3 years to find Crackberry. Mostly because I figured that my organized and tech driven mind set could not possibly be anything that anyone else experienced. Oh how naive and wrong I was. In the beginning Crackberry was a place where BB enthusiast could ask legit questions or express concerns/ideas to a forum that welcomed and almost thrived to see the success of a fellow BlackBerry user. How the times have changed, yes 95% of all Crackberry members still feel that BB is an incredible OS and that Crackberry is absolutely the greatest forum in which a real BB fan/user can seek advice or opinions, however the so called "TROLLS" are bleeding the site of the original feel of trust. I know we cannot monitor each and every single bad post and that even BB fanatics like myself post the occasional thought of defection or disbelief, but this incredible site is beginning to feel disheartening and considerably less "pro-BlackBerry" because of the efforts of those so scared that BlackBerry just may deliver on the promise of delivering a product that defines mobile communication/entertainment. I know that Kevin posted his feelings and many of you made comments thanking him, but has anyone taken the time to really see what he wrote. We need to quit responding to those who hate so desperately on our faith in RIM to deliver like they once did. I believe in the new leadership, so much in fact that I scheduled a meeting with my companies executive management team to discuss our communication and application needs (no I am not in IT). The director of our IT department told me RIM is dead write them off, so I showed them all the amazing ideas awaiting us with BB10. I even took our CEO's iPad away from him and gave him my PlayBook to use for the duration of the meeting. I didn't swing everyone away from the negativity against BlackBerry, but our CEO now owns a PlayBook. I love my BlackBerry products, and I don't disparage another person's, but if we as the ones that believe and faithfully do so can see past the "bait" placed out by TROLLS and solely focus on what this site was based on we can clean up Kevin's amazing adventure to the great place it was intended to be. Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it.05-05-12 09:59 PMLike 0
- I still think it is a ill conceived rant when someone is here to talk about any poor quality in RIM products and referring them to Apple and products running on Android. Are you going to discuss the quality issues in Apple and Android devices as well? Because I own all three and I know of many problems with Iphone and my Android products. So if someone is just here to beat up on Rim, I know I certainly won't take it as being objective.06-07-12 06:55 PMLike 0

- sleepngbearRetired ModeratorMods, I think it's time for a refresher course. The malcontents are once again running amok. Can't ignore them all, can't report them all, can't intelligent gently debate with most of them. They don't overtly flout the rules & guidelines, just the usual negative, passive-aggressive drivel. I'm sure you know who they are. CB is becoming an increasingly frustrating place to visit.06-12-12 07:40 PMLike 2
- Though things look under control, there are random sporadic emergences of these trolls. Annoying like , but I just choose to ignore. The more we reply and debate, the more the trolls get fed and they continue even further.
While Kevin and the team are taking out the trolls, it is also our duty as members NOT to feed them but just to ignore. Don't get into a debate with them cause it will just snowball into something senseless in the end.06-12-12 10:26 PMLike 5 - Mods, I think it's time for a refresher course. if they would remove the limit to how frequently one can report you COULD report them all
I hate that I read faster than the counter allows, since I probably see that wait to report warning a few times a week, and if I have to wait, I usually just forget about reporting.06-13-12 09:09 AMLike 0 - WELL

The limit should be decreased to 10-15 seconds.06-13-12 11:16 AMLike 0
