Great looking device with great specs, the Cyanogen ROM included and priced the same as a Nexus 5, it should sell like hot cakes.

Where is the Z3? Being priced at $200 it should take off even though it is not sold in some of the same markets. It will be interesting to see how well this phone sells in the markets they are marked to go into. Will also be interesting to see if it stands up to everyday use. I'll check one out just to see what it is like when it comes to the HK market. Rocking 24-7 w/ my Z10 & 64GB Playbook

It may have great specs for the price, but I've always found that to be a bad sign. Cheap electronics have often let me down.

But for customers it's a good thing, right? Many people are there who can't afford the pricing of BlackBerry Z30 and iPhone 5S and I am sure this will be a huge hit

This phone certainly has my interest: It ticked the boxes, with regards to specs, though I wonder what the build quality is like. One thing I can say about the blackberry build quality is that - generally - it is solid.

That kind of device running bb10 - oh mercy lol!

Very true, Apple just beat the analyst expectations and sold a record number of iPhones this quarter and made 10 billion in profit. Even with all the new Android and Windows devices out there? You can forget about the iSheep and/or fanboy BS theories, there is a reason folks are buying them and thats what Blackberry has yet to figure out.

See BlackBerry needs to team up with a company like this, but not in China, to make the hardware for the BB10 devices. If these companies can make a high end phone for $299, then why can't BlackBerry partner with someone who can make hardware for cheap and they load their OS on it and go. I know they are doing this with the Z3, but this thing is going to pummel the Z3 if the Z3 price is around $199.

Yes.Now BlackBerry can't afford the high end pricing like apple even if they release a path breaking device.

They should release flagship phones with Foxconn and price it below the competition.

In india these kind of phones are produced by companies like Micromax and Karbon whichh have exceptional build quality. The only backdrop these phones may have is the OS and UI.Thats why they sell ona lower price.Again it's how they segment.

Take look at the specs and the build parts for Micro max. Far from quality.

Not going to comment on Karbon as I have no experience with them.

They've already partnered up with Foxconn, who can make a phone very inexpensively. As far as doing this outside of China? Unfortunately, you're not going to compete with China from outside...

There is a new generation of Chinese companies coming after the world market, these guys, Xiaomi, Meizu, all have phones that have great price points. I have seen the build quality of Xiaomi and Meizu and it is very competitive. But the goal of these guys is to go after the entry level smartphone buyer which today is Huawei, and to some degree Alcatel. This to me, is where Chen's strategy makes alot of sense, dont fight these guys because you are not going to out cost and out spec them but focus on where you are strong. To paraphrase Mao, where the enemy is strong we retreat, where the enemy is weak, we attack.
