    Good Afternoon

This is my first post on here and i am 100% noob, i have searched and searched and this is my problem...

my friend gave me her 8900 (my 1st blackberry) but its on Tmobile and my SIM is O2

    ive installed OS
    8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_Wind_H ellas

i still have all the Tmobile apps and stuff on there including the Tmobile themes and everything like that.

My question is can i change the carrier via a new OS/Firmware with out calling Tmobile to get it unlocked, i want it to look and feel like it was always an O2 Phone

    Thanks in advance

The short answer is no, not very easily. If u can do it, I wouldn't know how, but I've seen it asked on here quite often.

No, you can't. They are burned into the ROM.

Just ignore them. They don't affect the operation of the device.

    Update...
I locked the phone by typing in the MEP code too many times,
Done my research then sent it off to a DM3 service centre (FoneFunShop in Sheffield)
I must say there turnaround time and service was second to none, highly recommend them.
When I got the phone back today all the evidence of it ever being a T-Mobile phone was totally removed, no more open and closing screens with their logos on.
Ive got a totally unlocked, non branded blackberry!
    Very happy
