Many people want to see a classic with touch keyboard capabilities.

People also want to see a passport with a classic style keyboard.

Would touch capabilities work on a classic style keyboard? The passport keys are a bit flatter I think. It allows you to drag your fingers across the keys more easily. The classic keys have those curves in them that make them great for pressing down.

Maybe if the classic had a touch capable keyboard it would be a bit of a "bumpy" ride.

Not sure if you could combine the two approaches. :-D

Classic is clearly optimized for raw typing experience, whereas the Passport's hybrid keyboard makes use of the added functionality, so it can be integrated in and improve the typing / swiping experience, in addition to scrolling and cursor positioning, etc.

(Classic kb would probably be a bit of a rough ride for your fingers)
