My routers set up fine n everything and my phone is able to find it, and theres a full 5 bar reception also. When i choose it and it trys to connect, 15-20 seconds later it says "Failed To Obtain IP Adress" wuts going on? When i reset my router and went to connect this time when it looked for networks it said Lynsys and underneath it says open, and it connected fine and worked. So why is it not working when i put a username and password in?

Does your AP/router send DHCP releases to WLAN?

login to your router thru the browser click wireless then wireless security. Under Security Mode:WPA2 Personal
    WPA Algorithms: AES
    share key: create one

reset the wifi settings on the bold to default and try again. good luck

Here are my WiFi Adv Diags, as you can see I can pull an IP of a working AP. No errors.. But my WiFi icon remains grayed out, and I'm not able to use thw WiFi.

    Very weird.

Man I have the same problem! to the core. somehow my router does not assign an IP address to the Bold. On the device is says 0.0.0.0
But all router settings seem ok. DHCP is on broadcast mode too.

Same issue here with my Bold.

IMHO, something is broken or corrupted with the firmware on the device.

Even the most basic settings fail, I set a:
    Manual IP address 10.10.10.10
    Manual Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Manual Gateway 10.10.10.254
    Manual DNS 1 & 2 10.10.10.254

Set the Wi-Fi Selection Mode to Manual
    Turned off Bluetooth
    Turned off Mobile Network
    Wi-Fi turned on

Under my saved Wi-Fi Profile "test" I selected "restore default settings" and then Yes to accept.

I then selected "edit" and all the old manual settings were still there.

I then went to Wi-Fi tools to Ping, and the device IP address is 0.0.0.0 even though I manually assigned an address. Obviously a ping is going to fail.

I've tried no encryption, WEP, WPA TKIP, WPA2 AES.

I've tried G mode only, B mode only

I've tried different WAP channels, and I have a strong signal.

I've tried a cold power off, removing the battery, etc.

I was ready to return the device as defective....however it connects at work using LEAP. At home, I've tried two Netgear routers...on a B only, and the other a B-G. Both fail.

ATT is my provider, and my device shows Version 4.6.0.167 Platform 4.0.0.157

    I'm looking for suggestions?

This Bold is driving me nuts. Have been on this for over an hour
Done all thats suggested and still nothing, just a greyed out wifi sign.
I have Orange livebox, it finds the livebox on search and everything comes up just fine but still no white wifi signal

    At last!!!!!

After all failed attempts I pressed the WiFi reset button on the Livebox and believe it or not, it actually sprung to life. Why pressing the reset button made a difference I don't know, but it now works.

    Happy now

Should my wifi sign be orange? when on at home it's grey but appears to be working.

Unfortunately on Orange LiveBox. You must press WiFi button every time a diffrent device is used.

P.S BTW it is for an Extra Secusity.
