    Is this a glitch from the upgrade? When I tap and hold to rename the screen goes dark. I can minimize file explorer to an active frame, but I have to close and reopen to get rid of the black screen and use it.

    Probably a bug. If you're experiencing other bugs beside this one maybe you should consider wiping your device and start on clean basis. Otherwise you could wait for another software update that maybe will fix your issues.

    For now, try installing a 3rd party file manager app to address the renaming issue
