Cannot connect to internet on wifi??
I have an unlocked 9700 originally used on TMOUS. I now am trying to use the phone on masmovil in Spain on a non-BB plan (they dont have one) but cannot access the internet or any data app like whatsapp, even when connected to wifi.
I have a 300MB data plan with masmovil, and the APN is set correctly, but even on wifi I cannot access the internet.
Any ideas what is happening? -

Delete the wifi profile reboot if needed and try to re add it again.

Call your carrier, or bring it to the store and let them try and get it working.
Or reload the OS from scratch if you haven't tried to do so already.

GNU/Linux distros of choice: Ubuntu, Mint (or anything based on debian that's still geared towards beginners and isn't too bloated).

Unlocked Blackberry bold 9700 with data connection
First make sure that the data (from the carrier side) is working correctly, contact your carrier and see if everything is fine on thier side. or, try to use your sim card with another mobile device to see if the data connection is working.
if everything is fine with the data then your unlocked Blackberry should work with some basic things such as Opera browser for web browsing but some apps won't work without data.. I suggest you to download Opera mini using a PC and install it on your Blackberry phone and test..Last edited by blackberry-unlocking710; 05-28-2012 at 04:24 AM.

Is it possible that my sim card is an older one that does not support data services? If I recall, the sim card is 2-3 years old before masmovil offered data packages. Their customer service is useless - contracted out to Colombians apparently.
