Once one understands the philosophy of the Contacts App, you'd never get any duplicates.

As currently implemented, every "Create Contact" automatically creates a copy of such Contact on the Local Store space. Why this is so, I do not know. However, all one needs do is make sure to DESELECT "Local Contacts" during the "Create Contact" process.

Still didnt solve the issue!

Same persistent problems as OP - duplicate contacts, duplicate fields, information appearing under the wrong contacts, entire contacts vanishing without a trace, fields disappearing, name of existing contacts frequently not displayed on incoming phonecall, and when it does, more often than not it's only the first name and nothing else, leaving you guessing which of the five Johns you know, it is that is calling.

Two BB10 devices, no facebook, no twitter, no viber. Mighty annoyed.

(...also; Character set incongruities, throughout, not just contacts...)

I am curious whether the same issues will plague the contacts app in BB's "Productivity Suite" for other platforms -- that should make a bit of a media splash...

It will be interesting to see if they use their own contacts app on the android venice too

I can attest to the fact that the contacts app is quirky. Sometimes extra text in notes field of one contact can leak into another contact lol. It is simply incompetent programming.
