I don't quite understand how it works after reading about it. Can someone explain it to me? Please don't just paste a wikipedia article or the description from blackberry.com, cause I read those. Does the car need to have bluetooth? Or can any car, even an old one use this gateway?
    Thanks!

Connects to your phone/playbook via bluetooth and then you can output from music apps on the phone/playbook to the gateway. The music received from the phone/playbook is output using the wired output on the gateway to a car stereo or home receiver/amplifier to be played.

The car doesn't need bluetooth, the gateway comes with 3.5mm stereo and rca wires so ideally either of those on the car stereo to input. If you don't have either of those inputs you might be able to make your own cable to suit car input.
