I downloaded a theme (from nancydrew in case anyone wondering) and applied a fairly simple theme (no motion or anything)

now Im having problems getting Slacker to run and my phone seems slower and sluggish. I have never had any problems until now.

just wondering if themes can affect devices performance

I've never had a performance issue arise as a result of loading a new theme. But, I suppose it is possible (?).

They (the themes) are loaded onto the application memory, so, it could slow it down. But we're talking about small pieces of memory being used up.

i'm guessing your phone is slowing down because it's simply lower on memory. i notice my phone do the same when i have too many applications running. like S7ar Scr3am, said, the theme does take up application memory.

i don't think it's messing up your phone per se - uninstall it (or other apps) and you should be back at the speed you were at.

Depends on the requirements of a theme. I find if it's a bigger file then it'll slow down your bb more.. (but that's not a confirmed truth, just an observation)

I would think it would slow down the process speed of some programs.

I downloaded a sponge bob theme once and it seemed my phone would keep freezing shut off yada yada Deleted the thing and my phone went back to normal.

Same here, Some themes just dont work right with some os's, I downloaded a theme and my bbmaps was gone, my call log, and other stuff. But when i downloaded a different theme everything went back to normal!

You sure those apps just weren't moved to another folder? Themes won't remove applications...

Have you tried a battery pull to reset the BB? That might get things right again.

if your talking to me, i didnt look into where the went cuz they should of stayed on my homepage just like when i use any other downloaded theme

Yeah, I was talking to you, Joey. Many themes relocate apps. I wasn't trying to be smart, just letting you know that it happens a lot.

Ditto same thing happened with me when i d/led a new theme. Deleted it and working fine now!
