    I am from the US.
I am interested in buying an unlocked phone from eBay, but I am worried that it might not work with 4G T-Mobile.
I've purchased unlocked phones from Canada before, and they never work 100% properly.
    Am I missing something here?
What does GSM Unlocked actually mean??

I know Rogers phones work perfectly on At&T. Does T-Mobile use the same type of 4G?

Last time I purchased an unlocked BOLD 9900 from eBay I purchased two.
one was unlocked from Rogers (Obviously a Canadian company).
The other one was from Mexico (can't remember the name of the carrier).

Anyway I put my T-Mobile SIM card into the unlocked Rogers BB9900 and got full bars that said T-Mobile "EDGE"
No matter where I traveled to New York, New Jersey, Philly.. I always had "EDGE" and never 3G / 4G
(I am pretty aware of how to operate and control the settings on the BB9900)

I put the same T-Mobile SIM card into the Mexico unlocked BB9900 and INSTANTLY got full bars that said T-Mobile 4G.

Took the unlocked Rogers phone to a T-Mobile store and the clerk told me I have to return it to the seller because I simply got "unlucky" with a unlocked Rogers phone.
Unlocked Canadian phones that are brought to the USA will only have "EDGE" and no 3G / 4G.

    That price is stupid.
When I say you can make some serious cash.. i mean if your from the UK:
Go buy 10 -15 Z10's for $599 each, spend $5-$10 each professionally unlocking each of them.
Then list them on eBay for $850 - $900 each

T-Mobile's "native" 3G/'4G' band is the 1700 MHz band. If a phone has the 1900 MHz band, it may get 3G/'4G', depending on where you are. See the posts about re-farmed spectrum.

Canadian carriers with 1700 MHz 3G/'4G' are: WIND, Mobilicity, and Videotron. US carriers with 1700 MHz 3G/'4G' are T-Mobile, Cincinnati Bell, and some carrier out in Iowa, amongst others.

For a phone to get LTE on T-Mobile, it needs to have the 1700 MHz LTE band. I do not know which block of 1700 MHz T-Mobile's LTE operates on, but that's a setting that will probably matter as well.

The Blackberries released on launch day are all unlocked. The phones were linked with our profile at the event so I'm sure Blackberry can trace who flipped their free phone. Just sayin'.

    Z10 is Quad band LTE 2, 5, 4, 17 (700/850/1700/1900 MHz)
AT&T and most of Canada are on 4 and 7
Sprint and Verizon are on 5
And I think T-Mobile is going on band 4 too
In any case some in the US already declared Z10 compatible with all available LTE bands there but the issue is FCC approval. That's why it is delayed in the US so theoretically, it would be illegal to use it's LTE on US networks :-)

Oh and here is one for 870$

If you already have service with them, just take out your SIM card and put it in this phone.

If I were to sell Z10s from the UK on ebay/through the forum, would you guys buy at $850-$900? Coincidentally I started a thread about that, but I wasn't too serious, but now that you mention others are doing it, I don't mind selling some. Not with crazy profits like those guys. For me it's more about getting devices to the U.S., making a little money is just a plus!

Honestly I would not. I'm looking more to spend 600 or so max on one and am thinking canada might be my best bet. Also I'm not sure if the uk phones will work on tmobiles lte network here.

Hope that helps. Also watch out for ebay as they will take about 10% or so in fees off your final sale price
