    Hi fellow crack(berry) addicts!

Just got my new 8830 yesterday and I can't yet tell back from front. I know I've already been swept off of my feet already coz I held him/her to sleep last night and couldn't let go. Found CB this morning and I'm hooked too.

I fell asleep twice last night trying to go thru' the manual and just couldn't crack it.

Some one please help me with pointers on what to do with it?

You'll totally be appreciated if you do.

    Cheers!

I'm in the same position as you. I just got my first BlackBerry (8320) a few hours ago. It seems like a whole new world to me. I am not use to it at all. everything I thought I knew about a cell phone is gone. I love how it looks and feels though. I'm just not use to it at all. I'm going to give it a try though. Any pointers or anything would be helpful.

    1) GPS, you need an application like Google Maps or TeleNav. There are many others.
    2) Themes are like "skins" or the graphic way the BB software is presented on screen. Options > Themes and try them out.
    3) Not wonderfully. If you need a good IM application, try out JiveTalk. BeeJive :: JiveTalk mobile messenger - instant messaging to go
    4) my mind reading skills are not so good

Other apps... Viigo is cool for a newsreader. Windows Live Search is better than BBMaps and Google Maps, I think. BBSmart or Empower pro for email.

Thanks for the welcome. The first thing I need to do is get my custom ringtones on my BB. The defult one gets annoying. Does anyoen know how to assign ringtones to contacts so I can put a different ringtone for each contact?

To add custom ringtones go to the name in address book, edit, push menu and go to add custom phone tune, pick your tune and you're set

Thank you. I was running out of time tonight so I didn't pick up a microSD card after getting my phone. I'll have to do that in the morning and add all my custom ringtones I made.

Thanks everyone! I feel that I'm in good hands with all of you and the rest of the CB addicts.

OK... another question: Even with fear of sounding like a total !d!ot amongst you all seasoned users and abusers (LOL) I have a question to ask. (Please don't make fun of me) Do I download these apps on my computer with my bb connected via USB or do I download them directly from my bb's browser. :-D

There is a section in the Blackberry 101 Lecture that explains how to download these apps. I'm still learning myself but the Blackberry 101 Lecture has helped me a bit.
