I'll be travelling France and the UK in the coming weeks. I have Verizon with their global data package, or whatever it is.

I'm wondering whether I need to bring a car GPS with me or if my Bold 9650 will somehow suffice. Will Google, Google Maps, and a GPS signal get me around (by car and foot), or is it a disaster in the making? if it's actually a good idea, is there other software I should load?

    Thanks

I've also used Google Maps overseas. Worked well.

I registered my other halfs Bold 9780 for a beta program of Telmap Navigator for the UK a couple of weeks ago for free! It gives you turn by turn navigation if your driving but also great if your walking around town. Check out there website and see if there still doing the beta invitations.

I installed we-travel is a very nice nav with voice in a language you like even homer simpson voice.
You install it at your mem chip and DON'T use any data.
Also is for free, download maps from all over the world for free.
