    Hey guys!

I was hoping you could help me with my problem..

My dad has given me two options..

    1. Get a Curve 8900, use it for a year, and then upgrade to the latest Blackberry available
    2. Get a Bold 9700, use it for 3 years, and then upgrade to the latest Blackberry available.

    Please help me out!!
    Thanks a lot guys

I'd say the 8900 because you will be able to upgrade within a year to the latest blackberry and trust me there are a bunch of great new blackberries on the way by the end of this year. The 8900 isn't that bad if you have a protection plan with your carrier because the trackball does get messed up alot. The 9700 is better because you are able to upgrade to OS6 and does have the trackpad instead of the trackball but the problem is that you'd have to wait 3 years for your next upgrade. Personally I can't wait 3 years to upgrade to a new device because it is waay too long for me to keep a device for that long, and the longest I've had a phone was for a year tops and that was my previous Blackberry which was the Bold9000. But if you are patient when it comes to the latest phones unlike me, then go for the 9700. So the real question is whether you are able to keep a phone for 3 years or not and if you can't then go for the 8900. Good luck!

Yeah i guess 3 years is a really long wait, which Blackberry phones are going to be released soon though?

There are lots of new blackberries coming out in the next year and a brand new OS will most likely be offered on the handhelds in about a year. Check the crackberry front page for the roadmaps. I agree with the others. The 9700 is a better device but the 8900 is good and should be fine for a year when the really good handhelds will be coming out.

    Bold Touch

    A new Curve

    Storm 3

    Torch 2

    Curve Touch

Now these do look pretty sweet and the upgrades that will be in the phone. I'd definitely wait for these rather than 3 years.

8900>9700. Use the 8900 & either wait for the Dakota or Monza , or wait for the QNX Blackberrys next year.
