When I updated to the last 10.2 update I started getting my contact lists on my bluetooth car phone doubling the last name... so John Smith was now John Smith Smith. I assumed 10.3 would correct this, but it didn't. Thoughts on how to correct this?

I've had the same problem. I only noticed it when my wife calls, but I think she's just the only one that has called while I was in the car.

Back up contacts with and app, clear them and reload?
Or even a device wipe?
Any other suggestions?

Sometimes when using linked contacts, there is an overlap with two of the parts of the names, happens to me every now and then.

Personally I would try backing up the contacts and device wipe for a fresh start. From 10.2 to 10.3 is quite a significant upgrade that it probably needs a clean wipe for the software to settle in properly.

This is an ongoing issue with contacts. This is what I have found to fix. Separate all of the linked contacts. Then look at each one. I bet you will find 1 of them has the last name in the first name slot or first name in last name spot. Fix it where you can. (facebook is one that can't be changed).

Start with your local contact, Gmail, or whichever one you want to be displayed and link the other contacts to it. Should fix it. Such a pain but seems to work for me.
