Isn't the typical option something like "ask websites not to track me"? Apparently its optional. Lol.
Yes. And I hear that in US now they are about to pass a law to allow the carriers to sell your data without your permission, even more loL..or loller ;-)

The extra expenses were on the android phones...which have proved useless. They didn't save BlackBerry hardware.
Hence, BlackBerry even stopped supporting the android phones at the same time as the bb10 ones. Go figure!
The BlackBerry Android investment has allowed for the current licencing agreements - leading to new devices going forward around the world.

NO other scenario would have led to more devices by anyone.

We know how that ended! But anyway, who said that more devices needed to be sold by somebody else?
Why not just save the money and "spin around or pivot around" to pure software bliss.
Why waste two years of money and resources to produce something to license for a tiny percentage of zero sales?

There are three global licencees that have far, far more confidence in BlackBerry Android than you do. BlackBerry has a new, high-margin, software revenue stream going forward.

Are you talking about the software business?
QNX automotive revenue seems to be quite small.
Supposedly QNX is in > 60Milion cars (that number is two yeast old and doesn't seem to be growing).
What makes you think that license revenue from 200K android phones per quarter and dwindling is going to count?

    They haven't sold any yet.

I'm talking about the 3 companies that have licenced BlackBerry Android - TCL (BlackBerry Mobile), Optiemus Infracom, and BB Merah Putih. They all seem very optimistic and in for the long haul.

We'll see if the three of them together sell more than 200k units per quarter at 250 dollars a piece. Even if BlackBerry gets 10 dollars per phone, it won't count for much....

Sell one phone and make 10 dollars and they're still several billion dollars ahead of the net profit on BB10.

Don't worry, I'm sure the BB10 licensees will come any day now. Surely they've seen the merits and raw money-printing potential of this best OS in the universe.
