BlackBerry World Conference question
Is there any point of going to BlackBerry World Conference if you are just a BlackBerry user who's not a developer or blogger? I've always been interested in going to one of these things - conferences i mean - to see what they've got to unveil, have a shot of possible upcoming devices, see what various things they have planned etc
Obviously being in the UK, it's a bit expensive to attend one of these events as well as missing the boat for BBWC 2012 but just as an enthusiast, would there be any point of attending?Had: 8700g, 9000, 8220, 9500, 8110, 9520, 8520, 8800, 9800, 9000 (again..), 9300, 8900, 9780, 9810
Have: Blackberry Z10 16GB in Black

I think you would be disappointed if you made the effort to fly all the way to Florida for this conference. CrackBerry should cover all the interesting stuff for BB users

Oh believe me i'm fully aware attending this won't be the equivalent of Disneyland!! However it's something I've always been interested in attending (well a conference of some sort - I figured I would go see either an Apple Conference or a BlackBerry one)
I do remember, i think, last year when Mike Lazaridus headlined a BlackBerry event and he had that guy from QNX on the stage (Dan Dodge iirc) and they both had that cringe worthy conversation about the benefits of QNX etc... I would certainly hope that at least this conference would be a bit less cringe worthy than that - i'd take boring, business-style presentation over that any day of the week!Had: 8700g, 9000, 8220, 9500, 8110, 9520, 8520, 8800, 9800, 9000 (again..), 9300, 8900, 9780, 9810

You'll be disappointed if you are there for new devices. You aren't getting them.
No, its not worth it. Its expensive and you probably won't be able to understand half of the sessions except for the keynote (BB10 Jam)
In case of BB world, I don't think it will be that exciting.
That's just my suggestion

Holiday time
Florida is a very nice place to go on holiday. I suggest you go on holiday there and spend 6 or so hours at the conference.

I am very far away from being a device geek, or any kind of programing, but I do have a big interest in it. Yes, most of what they would talk about at those kind of Conferences would be way over my head..... BUT If I was able to listen maybe something would make a lightbulb moment!
Go to them, have fun.... and met new people and amazing concepts! -

If it is a conference more related to announcements, new features etc., then I would go for it if there is a big audience for your blog.
The programming aspect of this year makes it a bit off for non-coders.
Then the audience would be coders and then you have no experience with writing about code and sdks, it makes no sense.
Why waste those hard earned $$$?
So maybe let big blogs take over and you can describe it in your own words with a source back.
It won't do much harm
