It is difficult to say what is going on, on one hand I think it is in bbry's best interest to keep the lid on what their plans are until they can deliver, on the other they have not shown that this is what they are doing (BBM cross platform).

My concern is also that to do anything big they need a partner with deeper pockets, I don't think that BlackBerry has the resources to do something big on their own, but I would love to be proven wrong!

I'll have to try that. The only thing that bothers me about my PlayBook is the slightly slow browser and I think even that only bothers me because my Z10 is so fast the PlayBook suffers by comparison.

Even IF they do, it is probably too late. Given poor products launch, unready OS and hardware quality issues, competitors have effectively used social media to kill user interest in the Blackberry OS and hardware. This is extremely difficult to overcome once it occurs. Even the telco's appear to have little if any interest.

I just think they are being quite till they can deliver as they announce. Meaning 'this is what we are doing and you can try/buy it today (or next week at most)' they have already made announcements about bbm cross platform and 10.2. Only thing exiting left for them to announce is A10. However If there are any surprises I think they would be in 10.2. I doubt they have anything else that exiting in the pipeline for the next 6 months.
