It appears to be coming slowly but surely.

I think CIBC did this a couple of months ago. Good to see RBC catching up as I am one of there customers and would really like to use my Z10,s NFC for something.

over ten bucks for a McMuffin & two coffees?!?

Either the cashier can't add or RBC is tacking on a premium service charge for NFC...

CIBC did it a few months ago with a MasterCard payment at a Timmy's.

Exactly and rbc is doing it with debit not a credit card, it comes out of your bank account, so that's way better than credit card I think

This is what I've been waiting for! I love using debit flash, it's so convenient. If TD doesn't have this by the end of the year then i'm switching to whichever bank offers it.

We just discovered fire so I doubt I'll see NFC pay machines anytime soon.

Most retailers prefer debit to credit card. In Canada the fees they are charged for taking a credit card are much larger than debit.

Yes, and this latest event was with RBC and a debit purchase.

It'll be common place before you know it.

I for one am excited to use the NFC payment. I'm not a fan of carrying lots cards around in my wallet. With the NFC payment on my phone, my DL and cash would be all that remains. The once George Constanza wallet would be comfortable to sit on again.
