Go to options > security options > general settings
    and check two things,
    1) in general settings scroll to the bottom, is there anything
    in the Services field

    2) hit the back button > firewall >
Is the firewall showing as locked with a red lock
    next to it?

    That was my fear.
Unite installed an IT policy that you now need
to get rid of. Pack a lunch 'cause it's going to take
    a while.

Before going forward, what OS are you running?

Excellent, that will simplify this a bit.

    1) Download this if you don't have it

Then follow the instructions in this thread

It's going to take a while, but I've been there and
it will work. Good Luck. I'll be up for about an
hour so I'll keep an eye out in case you run
    into issues

This is the main reason I have avoided Unite...

I do not see the advantage of it anyhow.

I guess for me, more wireless flexibility would be cool.

Me too. But I can't get it to work. I can never connect to the web admin with my pc, so the last 2 parts to the install always fail. But now, you can't even dl it from rim us on their site.

Yes you can, its here, but I don't know why anyone would want to download and install software that will probably render your browser on your BB useless. Fill out all the fields, and agree to everything, then click next. Eventually you will get to a download button, click it, and it begins.
