    I read this article in the guardian. They state that when the UAE tried banning BBs, Obama condemned it, only then to require US government backdoor access. Is this why they are allowing iPhone and Android devices, to allow them easier access to their own devices?

    BBM is encrypted but if you have BIS the carrier can handover what info they need. BES is more secure, however its not cheap.
