blackberry playbook question
fyi i just bought my playbook a few hours ago..so my question is....
i`ve notice if i connect my playbook to my blackberry 9900 through bluetooth i get internet access and can check my mails and all that
and my question is this, will my phone bill increase? ...or is is just because i use bluetooth is like using your bb but on another device (idk what i`m saying either)
bottom line is, what do you guys think, cause using bluetooth is really cool, cuz i got internet acces, but i don`t want my phone bill to increase (more than it already is) - 12-05-2012, 02:56 PM #2
You are using the same data plan as if you were using just your phone. Are you using the Bridge feature?

Depends on your carrier and your plan.
Some carriers you need a tethering plan, some you don't.
For example, I'm with Bell in Canada and did not need to change my plan (other than adding additional data at the time because of a promotion)XoXoXo

Re: blackberry playbook question
If your using bridge via bluetooth then as long as you don't go over your normal data allowance it won't cost you anything. If you are tethering then, with my carrier Voda UK. it would cost an extra £5 per month.
Do as you would be done by and 12 pence to the shilling (or 100 cents to the dollar).

Re: blackberry playbook question
download the bridge for att app from rroyy.com
it is modified so that you can use the bridge browsing capabilities without the 5gb "mobile sharing" plan. I use it every day on my playbook. - 12-06-2012, 09:47 PM #8

I thought bridging was inherent to the devices and that tethering was the one that you may or may not have to pay for. Am I wrong? Also, OP, you can simply engage your wifi hotspot since you have a 9900. I believe that anyone running OS7 can do that without paying for any extra data plan..... again, may be wrong on that as I'm on OS6 and don't have that option so don't quote me.
