Has something changed? I thought I heard about a new version coming out, like yesterday...

Nonetheless, am having issues, again! When I go to Pin Messenger, and add a contact, I can only add them with their EMAIL address, and NOT their device Pin number!

Now, don't get me wrong, this would be better, thus when a person changes devices, no need to hunt them down to get the new pin number. But, is this just me?

I know we talked about this earlier, but I'll put it here so everyone will benefit.

If you want to add someone to BB Messenger via PIN on the Pearl or 8800, you go to Add Contact, scroll to the name in your address book, click the menu button instead of the Pearl, and then as long as you have a PIN associated with that contact, it will give you the choice to add by PIN or add by email.

Now if you want to add a person by pin who is not in your address book... open BB Messenger, add a contact, go to the very top of the address book, select 'use once', click the menu button, now you can request by PIN or by email.

Also, for the 8800, i'm running BB Messenger v4.2.1

I was use to on the 8700, going to BB Messenger, click 'add contact', scroll to the top, 'use once', BUT, I would have two options: 'request by pin' & 'request by email'. Strange, no?

Thus I thought mine was broken...

Very strange, Navilyn. And yes, you're correct on the difference. I'm on an 8700 and no surprise there that my version of BB Messenger is also 1.0.94. However, I heard also that we should expect a new version. I somehow thought it was April 1st but when I search for a press release or information, I'm coming up with nothing.

I don't think this will help you, Navilyn - I'm sorry, however, for someone else, here is a link to the BB Messenger info/manual. Maybe it will be helpful to some.

I will certainly update the thread if I can find info. on the new version release.

Be interesting to see if a new one comes out .....
