I'm not sure.... But I believe the pin is randomly assigned. However, since each pin is unique it would seem logical that it would correspond in some way... Or be stored in a database somewhere.

I think it used to be like anything starting with a 2 is a GSM model, 3 is CDMA but now there are ones with 4's coming out so I don't know where they fit

i see alot of 4's showing up as iDEN nextel phones, but are rare. your assumption as 2 for GSM and 3 for CDMA seem to be spot on as far as ive seen.

Wow I just looked through my contact lists and this seems to be true based on what I know what service my friends and family have.

GSM is one type of standard for cell phones.

This is a wikipedia article about it.

GSM - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

T-Mobile like you have is a GSM network, as is AT&T in the US. Verizon and Sprint are examples of CDMA.

Added people, and they've added mine. But it's always pending. It's been months. I'm on Orange, have Wi-Fi connection etc why doesn't it work?

Do you have a BlackBerry Internet Service plan, or just Wi-Fi?
