Hello everybody!

I am a BB addict since the release of the Curve 8900 in France. I have owned several Berrys after that but I never had a Pearl 81xx.

I actually would like to buy one. I found some new/refurbished models available on the internet for a price about $60.
I love this form factor & everybody knows RIM will never make a new phone this form.
As a backup phone, I think it might be good.

I plan on using it for text & email messages, BBM, Endomondo (if the app is available for this model).
What do you think?
Also, can someone tell me if it Is a solid model with good battery life?

3. Why wouldn't you buy a 910x, which probably sells at not much more than an 81x0, and is much more advanced?

I own a Pearl 9105. A great phone except for the T9 keypad.
I considered buying a 9100 but I am living in Europe where the phone is not available.
I contacted some merchants in the US and they refuse to sell it to me (?!#??! )
That is why I thought about the 81xx series and found it on a French site.

I seem to recall a thread stating that you can install the 9100's keyboard on a 9105 and turn that phone into a fully functional 9100...

This is something I thought about.
I hope it is not too difficult to change that keyboard. I don't want to destroy my 9105.
You clearly felt that I am interested in having this form factor with the suretype keyboard. This combo would be awesome for me.
That's why I considered the 81xx even the specs are....well, poor. I don't need the space shuttle to handle my communications.

How about this site, for a unlocked 9100? it seems to ship to Europe fine.
