I have a friend who just got the Pearl. He doesn't subscribe to the Blackberry Data package (internet, email)

Can he still do BB Messenger with me?

We have tried it but it doesn't seem to be working.

    THanks!!

First you need to add add a contact - open messenger>> menu>> add a contact>> this takes you to your address book. you can choose an existing contact, or scroll up to "use once" - with use once highlighted, you hit menu, and choose request by email, or by pin. Go ahead and use my pin if you want to try it. 2447B452.

Hey. My friend just got a curve and I'm trying to add him following all of the steps you guys said and it just says pending and nothing gets received from either of our phones. I have 2 other BB messenger buddies that worked fine and this one won't work? Any suggestions would be appreciated lol.

He has the data plan and we have the right the pins but nothing. Thanks in advance.

If you have data plan (unlimited preferred), that's all it uses. no hidden charges.

Ok, I had posted this on a previous thread, but no one answered. I deleted Blackberry Messenger a while ago, but now I need it. I went to mobile.blackberry.com, and tried to download it OTA, but is says I don't have the right system requirements. What's the problem?

One rep. at T-mobile told me to get a text messaging plan to use it when I first got my Curve. Obviously she was trying to meet a sales quota, or mis-informed.

Luckily for me it wasn't my first blackberry. I wonder how many people don't know this?
