Hey guys,

I'm brand new to the Blackberry family and am probably just making some kind of rookie mistake. I added a couple of business associates to me blackberry messenger by scanning them in as they did me. And since we did that we still can't send messages because it says waiting for activation. The strange part is that neither of us received a notice asking for us to activate eachother.

Am i missing something?

Do you both have BLACKBERRY Data Plans with your phone service carriers?

I have the same dataplan as i was using with my iphone. It;s the generic rogers data plan. I also switched to some kind of blackberry plan for voicemail, texing, ect.

A BlackBerry-specific data plan is required for push e-mail and BBM to work. Check with your provider.

make sure your BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) in your handheld already activated

Yep. You need to have them change your data plan to a BLACKBERRY specific data plan in order to get BlackBerry Data features, such as BBM, to work.
