since BlackBerry Protect is using bing maps to locate the device i hope we can get a native "bing maps" application.
i found it accurate and friendly to navigate.

I wouldn't say it's useless around my area, but starting the navigation is a pain in the back. There is no button that shows "tap here to start searching places". Noooo, it has to be hidden and inaccessible until you somehow stumble upon it without knowing how it happened

On mine there is a box at the top to enter a search, not sure how much simpler it could be. I find the maps to be clear although on occasion have taken me to the wrong place!

Is anyone at BlackBerry hearing us in India... bring your maps for India please. currently Map my India app has stopped working. Just crashes on launch. Mireo maps are damn expensive to download and they ask to pay for every damn feature.

I hate BlackBerry maps with a passion. Slow and useless, they should just source their data from Google maps since they are incapable of making a good map app.

I have been using BlackBerry Maps since our move. My Garmin is dying. BB Maps has been overall reliable and working well for me. I like the favorite feature, the clarity, turn by turn navigation with advance notice and the LCD screen on my Z10 makes it easy to see with my polarized sunglasses.

Did side load Google Maps to check it out. Made my phone hot and is a battery drainer, on even a short trip. Will check Waze? out.

I've found it kinda inconsistent sometimes it's great sometimes I wanna scream to the rooftops. But I would say the latest update has made it a lot better.

I think it depends on where you live and what you use Maps for. I use them for navigating to my destination, nothing more. If you're on a sightseeing trip, you should use something else.

Google Maps never places me in the correct location, there is about a 500 metre error which makes them pretty useless.

It must have something to do with the location it is used. I've used it several times in Eastern Canada, big cities and small towns, and I haven't had any issues. Wife was going downtown Montreal this morning and I just entered the address and she got there perfectly without issues and was accurate with traffic info. I still use my Garmin for most of my trips but use BB Maps when using my wife's car and I haven't had any issues.

Can they please add a navigation option for pedestrians. Living in London I tend to use it more on foot.

It does work well when driving though. Keep the updates coming!

Until last month, I used sideloaded Google Maps 10 out of 10 times, but I've started using BB Maps from this month after an update to SR 10.2.1.537. It's like 9-to-1 ratio of BB Maps to Google Maps. Google Maps is great, but it's not a native app, even with the run-time player's improvement. Sigh... There is a long way for BB Maps to go, but BB Maps has improved, I guess. There is still a room for improvement, but it's okay with me now.

Your statement is false - and quite possibly useless. Many use BlackBerry Maps for turn by turn directions, successfully and on a regular basis.
