I'm now currently using my new z30 for about almost 5 months now. My z10 was not used since I got my new z30 and my z10 still using the same current blackberry ID, same email. But now my z10 can't get those new apps up to date. When I go through blackberry world, they need me to verify my account which it's the same as I'm using in my z30. What will happen if I verify through my z10? Can I use both phone with the same blackberry ID? Sorry for my broken grammar.

Hi, you can update your 10 with the same ID provided you are using one of the device at any one time. So bbm have to be set again etc.

Thanks for the reply, it is a lot of troublesome by doing all these especially resetting Bbm. I think it is the best to do a factory wipe and create a new BBID for my z10.

I am going to have Z30 too and Z10 as a backup. What is the best practice in this case ? Please share your experience and knowledge.

In theory the BBM on PB uses the same as your device as it's bridged. For 2 different devices, best to have a different BBID as BBM relies on them. Moving back and forth can cause lost of contacts and groups.

Blackberry z30 doesn't heat up easily even playing games or other hardcore usage compare to the z10 which the z30 battery won't ignite hastily.

The speaker is one of the reason why I upgraded! Natural sound through BBM or other calling device just superior! You don't feel like alone in the room when on a call. Microphone is a beast too.

Obviously there's a radio in the z30 but z10 doesn't. It is very clear, not like some other phone ( don't want to mention) signals is so terrible!

My z10 model is STL 100-1 where I can't set my screen white balance but now my z30 makes the upgrade more worthy!

I'm an average user, minimum battery life 35 hours to 5-7%. That's more than enough compare to my z10 which not even 8 hours.

So much more to compare but overall it is worth to upgrade from z10 to the z30. Using blackberry since 2009. Never regret. Cheers

Thanks and great to know your experience but I think I was not clear. I have already ordered Z30. I am wondering what is the best practice to keep both phones and have Z10 as back up device. Do I need to create a new BlackBerry ID for Z30. How do I switch BBM pin and contacts to Z30 from Z10?

To switch devices, you use BlackBerry Link, and if you can plug both units into your computer at the same time, it goes faster. Then you will have to set up your email on the z30 and bingo should be good to go. If a few apps do not transfer, it's because the z30 app is different than the z10. Simply go to BlackBerry World and reload. Even if it says "buy", you actually won't have to complete the financial transactions. Now your z10 is not upgradeable under the same BBID unless you keep switching your BBID back and forth. That is a hassle. I just don't know why anyone would keep a z10 as a backup device. If you break or lose your z30, then use link to bring your z10 back alive. Else forget about the z10. Z30 rules!

Thanks 007, I think I got it. What about BBM, will the pin be switched over or just contacts will be switched over. Z10 will be Wi-Fi only device that will be used by my kids to play and study mainly.
