I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120 with wifi.. When I'm in the same room as the wireless modem it connects fine.. But when I go out and walk to the next room it isn't connected anymore.. Is this normal?

It's called signal degradation. It happens all the time with wireless connections.
Just thought I would be able to use wifi in the other room.. Oh well..
I have 3 floors with the router on 3rd floor and got signal in basement i can even walk down street

It could be your router doesnt broadcast very far. Could try changing your channel on the router settings also. Heres what I have setup on my blackberry. Go to manage connections/wifi options/ in the saved wifi profiles highlight the name of your connections. Hit menu and move to the top of the list. Then hit menu again and edit make sure "allow inter-access point handover" is checked. Hit back and save. Also go to manage connections/mobile network options and make sure cennection preference is set to wifi prefered. Network selection is auto.
