BlackBerry to give up the whole keyboard, how do we do ?
Since then no such a classic full - keyboard mobile phones can use ,when blackberry give up full-keyboard in BB10.Why can not retain the full keyboard ?
My analysis :
The full keyboard is just a product of the times , when the touch screen means that the physical keyboard will eventually be replaced . No one can avoid . I'm the product of this f-u- BlackBerry full-keybord era , I get used to the f-u- full keyboard !

If you'd been paying attention, Thorsten has CLEARLY said that there WILL BE a BB10 with physical keyboard - not at the beginning, but it will be made.
So, unfortunately, your "analysis" is flawed.

Hey man. Don't worry. The CEO said we will have it! Touch and physical keyboards.
Don't hype up.

well... get a iphone with keyboard....
opps they don't have it ,either.
android system? Remember its defacts?
Blackberry will have keyboard version bb10, I guess.
I think they just want to show us all that Blackberry can do more even without physical keyboard. Full touchscreen smartphone is a trend, and rim have to show the world what they can do with bb 10, not just physical keyboard. Feel more with blackberry 10 system. - 05-03-2012, 05:51 AM #6
Don't put strain on ur mind OP.
Heins knows better than all of us.
Qwerty keyboards aren't going anywhere. They'll be incorporated sometime later after a full touch deviceWritten with full consciousnesS
This will help u spot the fakes

I believe it was stated the first BB10 with physical keyboard is slated for early 2013.
I hope it's the Blade or something equally as sexy.

The press should all be shot due to reporting that there will be no keyboard. I watched the story come up on 2 of the 3 large networks in the US. They all started saying that the next BB's would have no "iconic" keyboard and called it a blunder. My god what a bunch of negative sensationalism!

Again and again ...
Thorsen stated that RIM is and will remain a "keyboard leader" device maker.
Novelty is that touch keyboard is now going to be as efficient as physical one.
Then it's about taste and colors ... pick the one that suits you the best

RIM has never said they're giving up on it they will launch a slab and a qwerty
Sent from my BlackBerry 9800 using CrackBerry forums application - 05-07-2012, 10:29 AM #16
to me, it would make more sense to put out a keyboard version first. That's what Blackberry is known for, and why MANY people still use them.
i don't see the point in putting out yet ANother boring slab phone that will continuously be criticized and compared to the iPhone/Android.
its time to be innovative. RIM should put more focus on updating the Bold 9900 form factor with these BB10 features, not creating another clone.
they should be taking advantage of the iPhone/Android users who HATE typing on touchscreens. There are MANY of them too.
i guess, i will just have to wait for them to release BB10 with a keyboard, hopefully its not a long wait...

A lot of people will argue that hard keyboards are the very opposite of innovative.
The market says that not so many people hate typing on touchscreens--or at least that they don't hate it as much as they hate small screens. But we still don't know whether people would go for an all-around larger phone with at least a 3.5" screen and a keyboard. My guess is that there will continue to be a market for such a phone, but not a large market.
The Droid Pro, with a 3.1" screen, didn't do so well, but I don't know if it had other problems. - 05-07-2012, 11:02 AM #18
The blackberry keyboard, especially on the Bold cant be compared to anything else though. Its THE BEST keyboard on any smartphone to date. Often imitated, never duplicated lol

and personally, if the iPhone had a keyboard and a notification light I would buy one soooo fast lol.
The keyboard on the iPhone is one of the MAIN reasons I came back running to Blackberry.
I constantly hear people complaining about touchscreen keyboards. There's even a website dedicated to touchscreen auto correct typos!
- 05-07-2012, 11:11 AM #19
I mean that they should improve upon what they have and create a new kind of Blackberry they havent done before.
I think it would be a huge hit to create a new phone with a larger/wider screen, even thinner, with BB10 OS in the Bold 9900 form factor.
That would put RIM back on top. Especially for businesspeople, and heavy emailers/texters/etc.. that want multimedia and apps. - 05-07-2012, 11:13 AM #20
The keyboard on the SideKick LX was the best I've ever used. But the SideKick platform had many other problems, and of course that was a landscape keyboard. I'll give my 9900 the nod for the best portrait keyboard I've tried.
Sure, there are still many of us who really want these keyboards, but there's no denying the fact that the industry trend is away from them. And as I stated above, no one really knows how much of a market there is for a large-screen portrait keyboard phone. And right now, RIM shouldn't be sailing into uncharted water with such a device. They have all the risk they can handle. The keyboard on the iPhone is one of the MAIN reasons I came back running to Blackberry.

If BB10 is successful, they can afford to move ahead with a hard keyboard phone. If BB10 fails, we can all hang out here on CB and debate whether it was because they didn't launch with a hard keyboard device. As we pass the bottle in the brown bag around. - 05-07-2012, 11:20 AM #21
Industry trend, yeah, but ask anybody here why they still use a Blackberry and you will see "keyboard" on everybody's list.
I just don't see the point in straying away from their niche. Blackberry is synonymous with keyboard. Any phone with a keyboard is called a Blackberry these days lol.
Even in their OWN commercials: "try typing 1000 emails on a touchscreen"
Since RIM cant compete in the Apps/OS world (right now), they should create their own lane by providing new and improved keyboard phones with full touchscreen options on the side.
Seriously, who WOULDN'T want a phone with a keyboard if the screen size is nice, the phone is thin, and it has a cool OS???? - 05-07-2012, 11:55 AM #22
I have read/seen multiple sources that indicate that RIM will eventually launch a full-QWERTY keyboard with BB10. I don't think anyone really knows when this keyboard phone will come out (with the full-touch, or not?); but I'm pretty sure it's a safe bet to state that you'll see a keyboard BB10 phone out at some point.

When BB10 launches, it will be touchscreen only.
-> If you like it, you buy it
Then another device will come with a physical keyboard.
-> If you like it, you buy it.
I don't get it ... things are clear and since no one has a gun pointed on his head, it's just a parameter of choice, between many others.
RIM made its previsions, choose a targeted audience and created its product mix.
Some will love and choose, some will hate and quit while others will ... wait until the next one. Unlike many brands/devices, remember your current BB is not a disposable unit with a 6 month life cycle ... stand with the device that fits your needs until you need to replace it or just can't resit
Also, back on topic, it's hard to tell what the experience of full touch keyboard will be ... I for one prefer the physical, but BB10 previews makes me wonder I may very quickly change my mind (I'd love a tiny vibration though, just as a click souvenir)."I speak English like a Spanish Cow"
