Found this article on Flipboard and it was interesting to see. It focuses on iOS, Android and HTML 5, but also show statistics for BlackBerry 10

Thought it might be worth sharing

Yet bb10 is a pretty profitable platform for developers, compared to how tiny it is. How many bb10 users worldwide, really? Maybe 6 million? If that user base could get to around 20 million this would be a very profitable platform for devs

Surprised HTML 5 is so prominent. I guess I've spent too much time listening to the negative nellies on this forum that say that HRML 5 is 'years away' and has 'no chance' and that BB has no chance as they can never catch up in the apps dept.

I was thinking the same thing.

Surprised this thread has not received more attention from the HTML 5 disbelievers. Where have you all gone?

It says that the HTML5 figure includes HTML5 that was translated to native code. You see apps that look like that all the time.

    Lol. Me too.

Our company is going html5 with our corporate website. Of course - the roll out is running late (oh my goodness ! A company missed a deadline ! They lied!) sorry. It makes me laugh every time I see in here griping about a pushed back date or that BlackBerry said something and didn't deliver. I have to think these people have never been even remotely involved in a large scale business. But that is OT.

On topic - the html5 seems to work very well. Our company seems to be having a spot of bother with one module and hopefully it will roll out this month. With product searches via tablets increasing 300% in the past year, I think this can only be a huge boost. A site that scales to whatever device you are using seems like a no brainer to me.

No wonder iOS gets all the apps and if people would rather get paid $100-$200 for developing apps for Android why not develop for or port apps to BlackBerry? Since BlackBerry isn't leaving the consumer market I think pay should increase. And OMG Windows is cheap.
