Default BlackBerry 9790 battery life is really disappointing!

I have the 9790 as i thought that the battery life would be better than my 9900, which i got rid of because of the 12 hour battery life, but it turns out the 9790 has a worse battery and it's a smaller phone!

I've updated to the newest 7.1 and its really bad. I've been using it for 4.5 hours and the battery is 52%! I've got battery saver mode always on and the screen brightness to the lowest! can anyone help?

    Thanks

What app have you transferred from the 9900 to the 9790?

You streaming music over 3G or wifi? Over 3G will drain the battery pretty quick.

~10% in full usage is a commen drain I guess.

If you have the device in your hand all the time, "playing" with it, browsing, typing and addionally playing music (even if mp3 on the memory does not drain much, 1-2 than what I get with the 9900 which has the same mini Battery of 1230mAh but a 1.2 instead an 1.0 (I think the 9790 has one) Ghz cpu and bigger screen.

If I were you I wouldn't have sold the 9900.. my 9900 last only 4-8 hours, however I have ordered an extended battery from a friend of mine.. you should have just ordered an extended battery

I would give my left arm to get 12 hours of battery life. I get 4-6 hours depending on usage.

The best way to improve your battery life is to spend a week in an area with low signal strength. Then when you return home, you'll be amazed at how long your battery lasts.

It's all a question of usage, sometimes it is also effected by the OS version that you have.. try to reduce the screen light, close background process and do all of those things to get more battery life.
