Samsung is actually making one, while Apple is only rumored to be doing so.

And that may work for you, but I have two semi-compelling arguments:

    1) Connected smartwatch == remote call ID; I don't have to remove my phone from its holster to see who's calling, and a watch can use a discreet hum that's less audible than even a smartphone on vibrate.

    2) Health apps. I kind of like some of the new functionality of stuff like FitBit, like the way it monitors your movements in your sleep. The watch can also give a vibrating wake-up alarm.

I wouldn't buy one. By any tech company.

I own a suunto ambit watch, Google it. Most advanced watch available. I would like if blackberry paired with them to bring some added features. But I don't need a glorified notification center on my wrist

My opinion on this is the same as my opinion regarding Samsung going for watches, health/fitness monitors, etc. Leave it to the third party developers/manufacturers - creating an in-house solution would alienate capable, focused developers whose sole focus are these devices and their services. I see the growing value of these products, and I'd especially love a FitBit or Garmin GPS + fitness monitoring watch, but BlackBerry is not the right company to make such a device. It is, however, the right platform... QNX...yadda yadda... embeddable micro-kernel... yadda yadda... Skynet... yadda yadda...

I'd buy it provided that it is/can be well integrated with the mobile device. Not just a secondary display for your smartphone.

What would also be nice if said watch would have a tracking function for your smartphone, in the event you ever misplace it or, heaven forbid, it gets stolen.

A watch is a piece of jewellery rather than a piece of technology, these days. This product has no market or future

Citizen already has the Proximity. BlackBerry should partner with them to bring out a full line of BlackBerry Citizen watches. There are plenty of other "Accessories" to the BB10 phone that can be had, if BlackBerry works in some exclusive partnerships.

Or, partner with Tissot. The Tissot Touch Expert has an altimeter, barometer and thermometer. Feed that data to your app on the BB10 and the BB10 data back to the watch display and etc...
