BlackBerry 10 should come with a warning!
"It will make your existing phone of any make look slow and you'll feel compelled to buy it"
"It will make pressing a home button feel like a chore" lol
I was privileged to be part of a group of people invited at the RIM London HQ yesterday to have a sneak peek at the BB10 device. Obviously had to sign an NDA so can't talk specifics but man oh man, it looks amazing. The processing power behind it is simply incredible, everything happens in an instant.
If anybody still associates the BB10 with the PlayBook forget it, it's nothing like it, everything is super fast and super integrated.
There's excitement all around, even the taxi driver that took me to their offices was excited about BB10 and he bought RIM shares, already doubled his money. Even the rodeo landing back to Belfast didn't dampen my excitement lol
It was great to finally meet CrackBerry James that has entertainment me for a couple of years with his mobile tech podcast, many times I found myself laughing outloud alone in my car
and DJ Reyes, that I must say was blushing a bit, getting a taste of celebrity life being recognized as "the girl who writes for CrackBerry"

Very nice. Can you speak about the camera? I've read rumors that it is not as smooth as one would expect. Any comments?

Can we please get away from the %#@*$ camera? The camera is excellent. The "time-shift" software seemed a little laggy on Dev Alpha hardware, but it typically would only be used in certain situations anyway (Time-Shift is a specific mode that the camera has to be set for--it's not always on).
Release hardware is much better than the Dev Alphas, and the software will have been further optimized.

Thanks for this review! Must have been a fantastic experience. Would love to be part of the launch on the 30th in Toronto but if I can't make it there then at least I'll be attending the Enterprise sessions on the 4th. Can't wait to put one through its paces!

Yes the camera is fast, everything is fast, I think nobody will bother with the peek because if you flick to the left you're in the hub, instantly. Everything is instant, I wouldn't call it smooth because you'd have to use it slow on purpose to see it smooth. Apps seem to open just as fast if they're open or closed.
That's the way I'd describe it, everything is instant, you've seen the last picture editing app leak video, the processing is instant.www.blackberryphoto.com coming soon - 01-18-2013, 07:43 AM #16

The phone will be feature packed, it would probably take two days to demo it all properly lol
Just like with the existing BBOS where even after a year you still discover little features you never knew you had, BB10 is absolutely packed with them. Small features and big features, out of the box.
Two things that struck me, it's a lot smaller and sleeker then I expected and now, looking back, I realize I don't think I used it once with both hands, always in my right hand using my thumb.www.blackberryphoto.com coming soon - 01-18-2013, 08:26 AM

Will you be making the switch to a touchscreen or waiting it out for the qwerty?
