With the launch of BB10 nearing I would think Rim would start a aggressive advertising campaign to get people thinking and wanting the new BB10 devices.

If they just show some of the new features it will get people curious !

They said they will be kicking off a major campaign on or around Jan 30th. Why advertise for something you can't sell to people. It makes no sense.

if i remember correctly RIM said they'll start TV-ad's after the L-Series launched or something like that

From a marketing perspective I would have to say that campaigning/ advertising is something that is hard to measure with the success of a device (profits matched with expenses), and therefore to start before the device is even launched will make someone's job harder and really just leaves the customer wanting to purchase that new Android or iOS device since BB10 is not on the shelves.

Especially in America where we pretty much want-it-NOW!

It's true... we still don't have a final version of BB10, so most likely it isn't completely finalized in house either. We still don't know how the whole thing will work, and there could easily be some changes from the stuff we see on the dev alpha... such as the icon design that you either love or hate.
