Default BIS resending deleted emails to my BB

I am posting this question after searching the crackberry forums and not finding an answer to this question.

After reactivating my Tour because I missed the BB OS(I "upgrade to a Motorola RAZR maxx; incredible "phone" in some respects, but it ain't no BB) , I keep receiving emails that I have deleted from my handheld and in some cases from both the handheld and desktop. Anyone have any ideas why this occurs?

    Thanks.

What email provider do you have? It happen to me once on a live account I have.

The most common reason a BIS/BES link would resend a previously sent email is probably missing delivery acknowledgement from the smartphone. For some reason the BIS/BES server incorrectly believes message delivery failed, and it is retried.

It wouldn't matter if you delete on desktop, the message has already been passed to the BB system to be delivered to your phone, and RIM's server will continue to make best efforts to deliver the message. The server might not even know you have deleted from PC at that time. Similarly if delivery confirmation fails to get back to the server it won't matter whether you delete the first attempt message, because the server thinks it is still outstanding for delivery.

Default Thanks for the fast replies

I changed the "confirm delivery" email setting from no to yes. Lets see if that helps.

    Thanks!

I think that is the setting to request delivery status reports for email you SEND.

    Default You are correct

That wasn't the right setting. Not sure how to stop this.

Delete the email account from your BlackBerry smartphone. Wait 5 minutes. Reintegrate the email account with the BlackBerry smartphone. Report back on the outcome.

    Default Deleted email account

Then reinstalled it and continue to experience the same problem. Was looking to find a number to call RIM to see if they can help. Anyone have the customer service number?
