so I bought a Samsung s3 and I HATE it . if I purchase a BBC9900 series off ebay can I put S3 sim card into BBC and will it work correctly

Oh ya...it was the constant use of BBC instead of BB.

But ya...need some sort of BIS plan to fully use the 9900

Changing your plan usually doesn't cost anything, but I can't be sure. I'm not an AT&T customer.

I'm tempted to just buy a new bb from my provider . I believed the s3 was a good move but it's horrible . some like it but I HATE it

If S3 uses micro, you do need an adapter. BUT, having said that, the adapter is pretty cheap

Just make sure you dont put a empty SIM adapter in your 9900.

I've switched between iphone, androids, and my 9900 a few times. Just go into ATT and they will give you a new sim for free. You need your data to be switched from regular data (iPhone/android data) to BB data plan. It doesn't cost a thing.

To answer your question about SIM cards, no the S3 and the 9900 don't have the same type. The S3 takes a micro-SIM, while the 9900 accepts a mini (regular) SIM. You'll need an adapter, as someone's already said. The adapters are pretty cheap. You can get one from amazon.com for less than $2.

Regarding data plans, you should get a BIS plan. Even if you plan to swap devices, you should get a BIS plan, for it doubles up as a generic data plan if you put your SIM in a non-BB.
