I have been debating this ever since I purchased the Passport SE, please let me what you think?

I came from a Classic, which is pretty similar. The Classic was considerably faster to type with because of the alt and sym buttons. I really miss the toolbelt too (although I know the Q10 never had that).

I got the Passport SE for the bigger screen. That really was the only reason.

Yep have them all the Q10 has the best keyboard in my opinion.

Q10 or Classic. SE is heavy and will bog you down if you type long time. The keyboard is not exactly softer, but mushy. But at least it won't tire your hands like the OG.

Hammer that OG a little, something like two years on CrackBerry and it's just about ideal...

Yeah, I know, a little work involved... :-D

I have owned them both. Find the SE better simply due to the extra spacing for my fingers. It will be difficult to transition away from this keyboard when the time comes

I'm curious to know how the q10 and classic compare to the 9900 from a purely typing POV.

Believe it or not, I have had my OG typed furiously for over a year (I'm a translator and writer) and not a wee bit made a dense on the keyboard getting any softer.

    What--six months short? Lol

The Q10 I almost bought instead of this 9900 had a much "mushier" or softer KB and none of the "clickiness" that is characteristic in the 9900, and pretty addictive I might add. There was nothing wrong with the Q10 KB, it was "smoother" but I like the feeling that I am "breaking icicles" everytime I type, maybe its the climate here

    Can't speak for the Classic.

The Q10 keyboard is the best. If you use one long enough you could type without looking down at all. With the passport keyboard, it is not as easy to type while not looking on the phone since it requires some swiping down and looking on the screen for the numbers, unlike the Q10 keyboard which has a alt key for the numbers.

I disagree as the passports larger keyboard feels more comfortable than the Q's compact design, IMO. However, after you have used the Passport for long enough, you'll quickly discover that any other device feels ridiculously small in comparison.

Like others have said, having that alt key makes a huge difference. But the passports keyboard having swipe gestures is wonderful. In fact, I often find myself swiping my Q's keyboard to scroll sites without thinking.

I've got a Q10 and love it- except the small screen can sometimes be an issue. The larger, square screen and faster cpu of the Passport has been tempting me, so hearing from people who have used both is helpful.
